Mrs. Goodrich - AIS
I am an AIS Teacher at Dexter Elementary. I provide small group Math instruction for students in Second through Sixth grade. In addition, I assist with the extra help in Reading at the Kindergarten through Sixth grade level with universal screening, RTI services, English as a second language, and accommodate students with testing modifications.
I grew up in Constableville, NY and attended South Lewis Central School. My college education began when I enrolled at Jefferson Community College where I began pursuing my dream of becoming a teacher. I received my Associates degree in Early Childhood Education from Jefferson Community College and transferred to SUNY Potsdam where I received my Bachelor’s degree in English/ Literature & Writing. Next, I continued my education as a graduate student and began working towards a master’s degree in Childhood Education at SUNY Potsdam.
My initial inspiration and sparked interest in teaching began at a young age as school and its curriculum became both difficult and overwhelming. Whenever I wanted to “give up,” special people better known as teachers were there to encourage, motivate, and generate that extra push I needed. They took the time to teach me and create ways to deliver the subject matter in which I understood. I have always wanted to give back and influence the lives of others as a positive, role model, and educator.
I enjoy teaching gymnastics and tutoring students before school, after school and during the summer break. When I am not teaching, I like running, and spending time with my family and friends.
