Classes start Thursday, Sept. 5

  • The first day of classes for the 2019-20 school year for General Brown Central School District students is Thursday, Sept. 5. We look forward to the new school year and the return of students and staff.

    Below are some reminders about how transportation will work for elementary-level students during the 2019-20 school year.

    Mornings

    If your elementary children need to be transported by bus to the other elementary school:

    8:40-8:45 a.m.

    • Walkers and parent dropoffs should arrive to school to catch the bus to the other school building. After 8:45 am, parents will need to transport their children directly to the other building.

    8:45 a.m.

    • First round of buses will drop off students at each building. Students enter building for supervision and breakfast. Walkers, dropoffs and SACC get on the bus to the other school building.

    9 a.m.

    • Second round of buses drop off at other school building. Students enter the building and report to homeroom. Students will also be given the opportunity for breakfast, which will be arranged at the buildings.

    If your elementary children report directly to the building in which they attend:

    8:45-9 a.m.

    • Walkers and parent dropoffs for students needing breakfast may enter building for supervision and breakfast.

    9 a.m.

    • As buses drop off students, they may enter the building and report directly to homeroom. Students will also be given the opportunity for breakfast, which will be arranged at the buildings.

    Afternoons

    For ALL elementary students

    3 p.m.

    • Deadline for notifying the office of any transportation changes for the afternoon run.

    If your elementary children need to be transported by bus to the other building:

    3:25 p.m.

    • Children will be walked to buses for dismissal.
    • First round of buses depart each school with students needing transportation back to the other building.

    3:30-3:40 p.m.

    • Students arriving from the other school building will meet staff for supervision, SACC and to meet up with siblings.
    • Some students will remain on the bus to be transported home.

    If your elementary children go home from the building in which they attend:

    3:35-3:40 p.m.

    • Walkers, parent pick-ups and SACC students will be dismissed to go to a designated location in the building.

    • Second round of buses depart schools for students to be transported home.
