• GB sophomore earns first place in writing contest

A General Brown Central School District student was recently awarded first place for his submission to a regional writing contest.

Jonah Dunn, a sophomore at General Brown Junior-Senior High School,  received first place for his grade level in the Greater Thousand Islands Literacy Council writing contest. The topic for this year’s contest was, “The Person Who Means the World to Me.”

The Greater Thousand Islands Literacy Council is a group of professionals that promote literacy in Lewis and Jefferson counties, including the Old Forge area.

Typically, first place winners are invited to read their stories at a Winners' Reception, but unfortunately, that will not take place this year due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Jonah will receive a gift certificate and a special ribbon for his achievement.
