• Mrs. VanBrocklin's:  Classroom Rights, Rules & Expectations

In essence my classroom’s rights can be expressed as follows:

“I have the right to teach. Students have the right to learn.

Nothing or no one will interfere with these rights.”

My Classroom Rules and Expectations are as follows:

    I expect you to be . . .

PATIENT:         Handle any delays or problems without becoming upset.

PERSISTENT:   Everyone makes mistakes. If at first you don’t succeed, keep trying!

POLITE:           Treat others with respect, kindness, and courtesy.

POSITIVE:        Have a good attitude towards yourself and others. Be encouraging and helpful.

PREPARED:      Come to class ready to learn. Be responsible for your materials.

                                 Complete your work on time.

PRODUCTIVE:   Pay attention in class. Participate in class activities. Ask for help when you need it!

PROMPT:          Come to class on time.

PROUD:            You are capable! What you can do is greater than what you cannot do.

A student’s effort, participation and adherence to my classroom rights, rules and expectations

will be addressed in the comments’ section of the 5, 15, 25 and 35 Week Progress Reports

as well as in the quarterly report cards.
