
General Brown student wins regional spelling bee, advances to national contest

After competing with students from across our region during the Scripps Jefferson-Lewis-St. Lawrence Regional Spelling Bee, Micah Sterling is headed to the national competition later this year.
The Brownville-Glen Park fourth grader won the regional contest on March 3. It was held at General Brown High School.

The Scripps National Spelling Bee is taking place in National Harbor, Md. on May 30. The finals will be televised in early June.
Sterling is listed as number 193 alongside all of the spellers for the upcoming competition on the Scripps National Spelling Bee website.
