Remote Feeding Plan 2020-2021

General Brown Food Service Remote Feeding Plan

As of September 1st, 2020 General Brown will be operating under the Summer Food Service Program feeding option.  All students eat free until June 30, 2021 or until the USDA guidance changes.  

Remote Service Feeding Plan (For days your student is physically not in school).

WHEN:  Remote student feeding will be conducted On Wednesdays only!  Remote feeding is available for all students.  Meals will be issued between 10:00 AM and 11:00 AM.  Menus specifically for remote feeding will be used to determine what meals will be prepared and served.  Each bag lunch will consist of either 5 breakfast and 5 lunch meals or 7 breakfast and 7 lunch meals.  All meals will be grab and go.  Some items will require heating or cooking.  In those cases, instructions will be included.

WHERE:  There will be 3 active pick up points.  At Brownville/Glen Park Elementary, pick-up meals at the food service entrance door on the right side of the school, (by the dumpsters).  At Dexter Elementary, pick up meals at the front entrance of the school.  At the Jr/Sr High School, pick up meals at the outside entrance to the school’s kitchen right off the cafeteria.  It’s the kitchen door facing the driveway as it begins to circle around front.  Signs will be posted at all sites.  Cafeteria staff members will monitor all pick-up points and will deliver meals to parent vehicles.  Parents will not be permitted into the buildings to pick up meals.

You can call the school kitchen to notify the staff you are in the parking lot.

HOW:  To order meals, you must either call Mr. Nevers at (315) 779-2300 Option 7 Option 1 and leave a message or email Mr. Nevers jnevers@gblions.org

Messages or emails must include the following information:

  1. Name(s) of student(s) that require meals?
  2. Are students physically attending class or are they totally remote?
  3. Are there allergies that require alternate items?
  4. How many meals are needed?
  5. What site will you be picking up the meals.

Meals must be ordered by the Friday prior to Wednesday’s pick-up.  The first day for remote feeding pick up is September 9th.  Orders must be submitted to Mr. Nevers by Friday September 4th.  Meals will then be available for pick-up on Wednesday September 9th.

ACCOUNTABLITY:    Parents can only pick up meals at the site requested.  Meals are free.  Food Service staff member will account for all meals issued.
