Prevention educator position
District to add prevention educator at BGP
The emotional and mental health of General Brown students is among the top priorities for the district. To better support students and the community in this area, GBCSD is adding a full-time Student Assistance Prevention Educator to provide primary substance abuse prevention services at Brownville-Glen Park Elementary.
The new position at Brownville-Glen Park will expand on the work that the school social worker there is able to do with students in the area of prevention.
To provide these services, the district is partnering with Pivot, a not-for-profit agency dedicated to reducing the negative impact of alcohol and other drug abuse and addictions in the community through prevention, education, and advocacy. The addition of the position at BGP will further grow the partnership between the district and Pivot, as it currently has a student assistance prevention educator working with students at the junior-senior high school and Dexter Elementary.
