A Message from the Principal:

Dear Dexter Elementary Families,

As we move into the winter season, I want to take this opportunity to wish you all a very happy and healthy holiday season. I hope you are able to find time to relax and enjoy special moments with family and friends.

I also want to share how much I am enjoying settling into my new role as your building principal. I’ve had the chance to get to know your children and the wonderful staff who support their learning each and every day. As a father of two young children, leading your children fills me with joy and pride—especially as I see the connections between what your children learn here at school and what my own children come home and share with me each day.

Over the next few weeks, we have many exciting activities planned for our students throughout the building. This is always a joyful time of year, and we look forward to celebrating learning and community together.

With colder temperatures arriving, please be sure your child comes to school prepared for the weather. Coats, boots, hats, and mittens or gloves are essential for outdoor play and arrival/dismissal. Teachers may take students outside as long as the wind chill is above 20 degrees, so outdoor activities will continue whenever the weather allows. If your family is in need of any winter clothing items, please let us know—support may be available.

A reminder that our last day of school before the holiday recess is Friday, December 19th. School will resume on Monday, January 5th.

I wish you a safe, restful, and joyful holiday season. I look forward to welcoming everyone back in the new year!
