A Message from the Principal:

Dear Dexter Elementary Families and Community,

I would like to officially welcome you all back to the 2024-2025 school year! I am excited to be starting another year at Dexter Elementary. I am an alumni of General Brown and am grateful to continue to lead the faculty, staff, and students at Dexter Elementary. I have been in the field of education for the past 20 years. My family resides right here in the General Brown community. I enjoy spending time in the community, and I can often be found at one of the many activities my children are involved in.

I look forward to continuing to work with all the dedicated faculty, staff and parents/guardians this school year. I encourage you to take an active role in your child’s education. Please take note of our PTO meetings and be ready to get involved in the many activities that we will be planning throughout the school year!

I invite you to visit our District and schools’ websites. I also encourage you to download the ParentSquare app. This is a major way that the district communicates with our parents/guardians. This will also serve as a communication tool to get pertinent information to you quickly and also allows teachers to message parents.

Student safety is our top priority. The administrative team meets regularly to assess our current practices and to ensure we are doing our absolute best for our students. We will continue with the procedure of having all doors locked in all of our District buildings. Anyone wishing to enter a building will use the main entrance buzzer system and will be permitted to enter by a main office staff member.

Every year brings change, and this year will not be any different. We will navigate through this transition together and I am sure the support we can give one another between home and school will help us along this journey. As your principal, I encourage you to discuss any concerns, suggestions or ideas that you may have to make Dexter Elementary the best it can be. I feel fortunate to be able to continue to work with the Dexter Elementary students, parents, faculty, staff and community! I am extremely excited to get the school year underway!
