Anticipated Elementary Teacher for 2026-2027 School Year

The successful candidate will begin on or about August 31, 2026. This is a full-time probationary appointment leading toward tenure. Preference is given to an elementary teacher with NYS certification Birth-2nd & 1st-6th. The initial assignment is anticipated to be at Brownville Glen-Park Elementary.
Existing General Brown teachers desiring a transfer in assignment must fill out a Teacher Transfer Request Form and submit to the District Office.

Responsibilities/Scope:
Working knowledge of common cleaning, disinfecting methods, materials and equipment; skill
in the use of cleaners and maintenance equipment (e.g., vacuum cleaner, carpet shampooer and
floor buffer); ability to understand and follow simple oral and written directions; ability to lift
heavy objects and perform work requiring bending, climbing, reaching, and repetitive motion;
ability to get along well with others; willingness to perform routine cleaning and other physical
tasks; willingness to be exposed to dust, dirt, grease and grime; dependability; physical condition
commensurate with the demands of the position.
Assist the building principal and head custodian in providing a safe and healthy environment for all students through keeping the building clean, lawns, and grounds in order and equipment in repair. Does related work within the scope of the position as required.

The district is partnering with Cornell Cooperative Extension in a 5-year grant. A piece of this grant is an after-school academic tutoring hub at the Jr./Sr. High from approximately 3:00-4:30 on Monday-Thursday. We anticipate having as many as four paid positions (per day) and will be providing transportation home at approximately 4:30 for students. If you are interested or would like more information, please respond to this form. The preference is to have academic tutors who are available Monday-Thursday. We may be able to consider other arrangements, such as signing up for Monday/Wednesday or Tuesday/Thursday, and after-school substitute tutors. This will all depend on interest.
These are anticipated Special Education positions (up to two) for the 2026-2027 school year. We anticipate 1 position in grades 7-12 and one position K-6. General Brown CSD is seeking a compassionate, dependable, and student-centered Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to support the health and wellness needs of students within the school setting. The LPN will work under the direction of the Registered Professional Nurse and/or school administration to provide direct nursing care, health monitoring, and support services that promote a safe and healthy learning environment.
Responsibilities
- Provide direct nursing care to students as directed by the supervising RN or physician
- Administer medications and treatments in accordance with physician orders and district policy
- Monitor and document student health concerns, treatments, and incidents
- Assist with the management of chronic health conditions and emergency care
- Support health screenings and immunization compliance
- Maintain accurate student health records and confidentiality
- Communicate effectively with parents/guardians, staff, and healthcare providers
- Assist students with personal care needs as required
- Maintain the cleanliness and organization of health office supplies and equipment
Follow New York State Education Department and Department of Health regulations
- Current New York State License as a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN)
- CPR/AED certification required
- Experience working with children or in a school setting is preferred
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and professionalism
- Knowledge of NYS school health regulations preferred
