This is an anticipated 7-12 World Language Teacher (French or Spanish) position for the 2026-2027 school year. General Brown CSD is seeking a passionate and dedicated World Language Teacher to join our team. General Brown Central School District is seeking a dynamic, student-centered leader to serve as Assistant Principal with Athletic Director responsibilities at the Junior-Senior High School. This is a unique opportunity for a highly motivated educational leader to impact both the academic and extracurricular experiences of students.
The successful candidate will join a committed leadership team focused on student growth, staff collaboration, and community engagement while promoting excellence in academics, athletics, and character development.
Assistant Principal Duties:
- Provide leadership in the daily operation of the Junior-Senior High School.
- Support a safe, positive, and inclusive school climate.
- Supervise, observe, and evaluate staff in alignment with APPR requirements.
- Collaborate with faculty, students, and families to support academic and behavioral success.
- Implement district policies, procedures, and initiatives.
- Lead student discipline with a focus on restorative practices.
- Support curriculum, instruction, and assessment initiatives to improve student outcomes.
Athletic Director Duties:
- Collaborate with the Athletic Coordinator on aspects of the Athletic program.
- Oversee the district’s athletic program for grades 7-12.
- Supervise coaches and ensure compliance with NYSPHSAA, Section III, and district regulations.
- Promote positive sportsmanship, student-athlete well-being, and community involvement.
Qualifications:
- NYS Certification as School Building Leader (SBL) or School Administrator/Supervisor (SAS) required.
- Successful leadership experience preferred (administrative, coaching, or athletic program oversight).
- Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to build positive relationships with students, staff, and families.
- Knowledge of curriculum, instruction, and assessment best practices.
- Commitment to a positive school culture.

The district is partnering with Cornell Cooperative Extension in a 5-year grant. A piece of this grant is an after-school academic tutoring hub at the Jr./Sr. High from approximately 3:00-4:30 on Monday-Thursday. We anticipate having as many as four paid positions (per day) and will be providing transportation home at approximately 4:30 for students. If you are interested or would like more information, please respond to this form. The preference is to have academic tutors who are available Monday-Thursday. We may be able to consider other arrangements, such as signing up for Monday/Wednesday or Tuesday/Thursday, and after-school substitute tutors. This will all depend on interest.
