Anticipated Special Education Teacher
General Brown CSD is seeking a dedicated and compassionate special education teacher to provide high-quality instruction and support to students with diverse learning needs. This role involves implementing individualized education plans (IEPs), collaborating with families and staff, and fostering a positive, inclusive learning environment. The successful candidate will begin on or about September 1, 2025. This is a full-time probationary appointment leading toward tenure. Initial assignment is anticipated to be the Junior/Senior High School.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan, deliver, and assess lessons tailored to meet the unique needs of students with IEPs.
- Implement evidence-based instructional strategies and accommodations in alignment with students' goals.
- Collaborate with general education teachers, paraprofessionals, and related service providers to ensure effective inclusion practices.
- Monitor and document student progress toward IEP goals and report findings to relevant stakeholders.
- Participate in IEP meetings, parent-teacher conferences, and team planning sessions, as needed.
- Maintain accurate and confidential records of student performance and IEP implementation.
- Foster a safe, respectful, and engaging classroom environment that promotes learning and growth.
- Address behavioral challenges using positive behavior intervention strategies.
Qualifications:
- Valid NYS teaching certification. Will consider applicants working toward certification.
- Experience working with students with disabilities, including those with learning, emotional, and behavioral challenges.
- Understanding of IEP development and implementation.
- Excellent communication, organization, and collaboration skills.
- Familiarity with technology tools and software for special education (preferred).

Salary and Benefits: Competitive and commensurate with experience- As outlined in the most recent GBTA Collective Bargaining Agreement

Anticipated Technology Teacher Position for 2024-2025

The successful candidate will begin on or about September 1, 2025. This is a full-time probationary appointment leading toward tenure. Preference to individuals with Technology Certification and background in Industrial Arts. Those working toward Technology Certification will also be considered.
Responsibilities:
- Challenge and educate students in a classroom setting
- Develop and implement engaging lesson plans
- Adhere to the established teaching curriculum
- Maintain positive relationships with students and parents
- Document and share student grades and evaluations
- Maintain the health and safety of all students
- Collaborate with special education and academic intervention services
- Knowledge of computers, technology, wood working, and trades is strongly desired
Qualifications:
- Strong classroom management skills
- Ability to build rapport with students, parents, and staff
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong leadership qualities
- In accordance with New York State certification requirements for Technology
- Certification is preferred, but applicants pursuing certification (nearing completion) are also encouraged to apply
- Preference given to applicants with multiple certifications
